We are now looking for a Geologist to work as a technical support specialist on varied project teams in a fast-paced setting. This is a fantastic chance to join a developing group and firm and work on a variety of environmental projects for a wide range of customers.
Qualifications:
- Other duties of this position include making plans for monitoring water quality and evaluating the results of environmental sampling.
- Project management tasks include preparing proposals and cost estimates, developing corrective procedures, monitoring implementation and construction, creating technical reports, and mentoring.
- Before they may be considered complete, applications for district or division-level solid waste and waste cleaning must be examined by those authorities. Evaluate the plans and documents provided by supervisors or managers for site repairs.
- This means that drillers must report mechanical concerns, the condition of the hole, and the results of surveys to management.
- Every day, management needs to know what’s going on, so it’s important to write these reports and keep in touch with them. Inventory management and moving samples are two examples of logistical tasks.
- Strong computer abilities including Word, Excel, and database applications; ArcGIS and CAD are pluses. Familiarity with remedial systems, including building and mechanical expertise.
- All problems, cost and time overruns or client-requested scope adjustments, prospective liability exposure or anything else that may affect the project’s effective and safe execution should be reported to your Project Manager immediately.
- They may be required to do tasks such as remedial investigations, remedial system designs, feasibility studies, remedial action plans, groundwater monitoring plans and reports, cost estimations, and the creation of technical papers.
- Common jobs include overseeing drilling and well installation and documenting soil boreholes. The soil and groundwater will be tested.
- Produce requests for more information, if needed, and permits/documents that are technically accurate, clear, intelligible, and compatible with specified rules, instructions, and processes.
Skills:
- You must have one year of federal government specialized experience or education equivalent to the GS-07 to be considered for this post. To meet this requirement, you must have collected, analyzed, and reported on soil and rock sample data in the field, as well as providing standard data to higher-level specialists; conducted studies or investigations; and/or assisted in the administration of mineral locateable and saleable activities.
- Field and site inspections for the construction of groundwater monitoring wells at solid waste plants as well as defunct landfills may be carried out by these experts
- The ability to compile and illustrate geological data using Microsoft’s tools; meticulousness and exactness in documentation Multi-tasking and project coordination
- At least a bachelor’s degree in geology from an accredited school or university, plus at least 20 semester hours in mathematics, physics, chemistry, biological science and structural and mineral engineering, as well as petroleum engineering and computer science.
- In a mining or industrial plant environment, extremes in temperature and humidity, as well as the risk of electrical shock and exposure to toxic chemicals and explosives, are conceivable.
