Job Description

As a Child Care Specialist, you will assist the Lead Daycare Specialist in the operation of our childcare facility by being joyful and enthusiastic. You’ll carry out daily activities as scheduled, show compassion and care to children and their families, and guarantee each child’s physical and emotional safety and well-being. In this position, you’ll contribute to our aims of fostering play, discovery, communication, and personalized child-centered development while also assisting us in maintaining a warm, kind, and loving learning environment for children.

Qualifications:

  • Inspections and assessments of current and prospective child care providers verify adherence to state and federal standards.
  • Creating an environment that encourages self-confidence, trust, and human respect.
  • Conducts training, responds to enquiries, and provides child care-related information to facility owners for technical help.
  • Students of diverse ages, sizes, compositions, and more may be accommodated by the educational philosophy of the center and the involvement of other staff members.
  • Coordination of child care registration data with the division and IT group is essential.
  • In collaboration with social service staff, investigates and documents allegations of abuse, neglect, or misconduct.
  • The child care provider is informed and educated about issues that need corrective action, a plan for suitable corrective action is developed, and a schedule for corrective action is established.
  • In the event that health and safety monitoring visits are needed on weekends or at night, make sure you have the appropriate flexibility.
  • The committee offers recommendations to the state based on whether new applications for child care providers are approved or denied, as well as if current registration should be terminated.
  • Encouraging a limited level of cooperation between child care providers in a certain area in order to comply with local requirements.

Skills:

  • It is essential to be able to effectively convey information to groups of managers, customers, directors, and members of the general public, as well as to answer to inquiries.
  • It is critical to have excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication abilities.
  • To be eligible, you must have a Master’s Degree or the equivalent in post-baccalaureate credits. Experience managing or teaching an educational program for at least four years, or association with one.
  • General business periodicals, technical processes, and regulatory requirements must all be read, evaluated, and comprehended.
  • Understanding of the Child Care Resource and Referral Service or child care programs is desired, as is experience dealing with low-income families and/or child care subsidies.
