As part of our accounting team, we’re looking for a Project Accountant. The Project Accountant will assist Project Managers (PM) in ensuring the fiscal health and financial management of assigned projects across the full project life cycle, from project planning through client invoicing and collection. The Project Accountant will work closely with Project Managers and other members of the accounting team to ensure that projects are completed on time and on budget.
Qualifications:
- Coordinates the preparation of specific financial reports related to building projects.
- Work with the regional finance manager, the project managers, and the project accounting manager.
- Must be well organized, capable of prioritizing competing demands, attentive to detail, accurate, and self-critical of work.
- Monitoring and evaluating project financials would take up most of your time.
- Subcontractor budgets must be set up in accordance with the contract’s specifications.
- It is your duty to read the contract carefully and comprehend its conditions, including those relating to the project’s kind, its intended scope, and its payment provisions.
- Monitoring the databases for building projects and utility services to ensure that they are updated correctly is part of the job.
- It is necessary to be able to see problems before project profits start to erode and, if necessary, to help with the creation of a corrective action plan.
- Change orders, invoices, and additional services must all be applied to the correct account. Establishes procedures for transferring funds from the general fund to specific accounts for examination and approval.
- Manage the projects that the project accounting manager has given you in terms of finances.
Skills:
- It is essential to have great written and spoken English skills for this role.
- The ability to identify problems and make recommendations for remedies is an absolute necessity. A basic understanding of policies and processes is necessary for this position.
- Computer abilities (Microsoft Office) are required, as is a beginner level of familiarity in Excel, with Oracle Accounting software knowledge preferable.
- Application of substantial knowledge to sophisticated fiscal management concepts and methods requires considerable competence.
- Must be dependable, adaptable, and cooperative, have a great work ethic, and be eager to take on new responsibilities.
